We have very similar tastes! I’d recommend Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See, and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Have you considered starting a Goodreads profile, so that people can see what else you’ve enjoyed in the past?

I have thought about starting a Goodreads profile (and I think I have an account) but it's just another thing to keep up with so I have not really gotten into it. But something to consider! Thanks for your recommendations, I appreciate it!

Definitely check out Suite Française - it was written in the 1940s and has an amazing back story.

Home front hit hard coming from a military family (son, nephews, etc) and Winter Garden - what an amazing story. I agree with The Women & The Nightingale! Such an amazing talent.

I really liked The Women as well. Such a good story! Beneath A Scarlet Sky is another of my favs in this genre.

Sci fi tends to be my home, but I like a lot of books. Big Stephen King Fan. Just finished Robinson Crusoe for the first time and I am surprised that it was a reasonable read for something written in 1719.

I ALMOST added Beneath a Scarlet Sky because I know it's almost a classic in the genre of historical fiction but I haven't personally read it so didn't add it.

It is totally worth a read imo -- at least one to put on the list. I don't know about you, but my list of want-to-reads seems never ending. I was just pruning mine today! lol. good problems to have.

NEVER ENDING is right! And I follow a couple book influencers and also have a book club I'm in (in person) so I get recommendations every where I turn :)

For historical fiction try Marie Benedict and also Martha Hall Kelly. I have read all of Martha Hall Kelly’s books and many of Marie Benedict.

I loved Isola. Based on a true story of a woman in 15th century France. You've got some great book recs. I don't buy books at Amazon any more. Any way you could do something similar at bookshop.org? Book purchases there support independent booksellers.

I have heard of Isola but never knew what it was about. I know that Amazon isn't for everyone. I will look into bookshop . org and learn more about it.

"All the Light We Cannot See" is hands-down one of the best historical fiction books ever written. "Honorable mention" doesn't do it justice.

I personally wasn’t drawn to the book as much as the others I mentioned. It sounds like it was one of the best books of your life which is great that you loved it so much.

I read this book on a whim. It was a recommendation from a girl I follow who spends her time between Paris and NYC. Whenever I buy something, I pop it into my Amazon store (I use that like a Goodreads account) but if I am being truly honest, this book dragged. I listened to it though. Maybe that was it, the narration was not great. It gets good reviews which is why I took a chance on it. But eeekk if I am being truly honest, I did not really love this book and think you may be bored.
