Historical fiction is my favorite genre and these are the the books I have loved, was sad when they ended, will always recommend, and are truly 5-star reads! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We have very similar tastes! I’d recommend Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See, and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Have you considered starting a Goodreads profile, so that people can see what else you’ve enjoyed in the past?
I have thought about starting a Goodreads profile (and I think I have an account) but it's just another thing to keep up with so I have not really gotten into it. But something to consider! Thanks for your recommendations, I appreciate it!
I really liked The Women as well. Such a good story! Beneath A Scarlet Sky is another of my favs in this genre.
Sci fi tends to be my home, but I like a lot of books. Big Stephen King Fan. Just finished Robinson Crusoe for the first time and I am surprised that it was a reasonable read for something written in 1719.
I ALMOST added Beneath a Scarlet Sky because I know it's almost a classic in the genre of historical fiction but I haven't personally read it so didn't add it.
It is totally worth a read imo -- at least one to put on the list. I don't know about you, but my list of want-to-reads seems never ending. I was just pruning mine today! lol. good problems to have.
NEVER ENDING is right! And I follow a couple book influencers and also have a book club I'm in (in person) so I get recommendations every where I turn :)
I loved Isola. Based on a true story of a woman in 15th century France. You've got some great book recs. I don't buy books at Amazon any more. Any way you could do something similar at bookshop.org? Book purchases there support independent booksellers.
I have heard of Isola but never knew what it was about. I know that Amazon isn't for everyone. I will look into bookshop . org and learn more about it.

The last green valley! So good and also my favorite so far is The Bakers Secret: a novel by Steven P Kiernan
I love The Last Green Valley too! I'll have to check out The Bakers Secret.
I've never heard of either of those - looking them up and putting them on my TBR list! Thank you!
Definitely check out Suite Française - it was written in the 1940s and has an amazing back story.
Sounds intriguing! I will put this on my list!
You will LOVE “Looking for Jane”. Historical fiction.
Thank you! I’ve never heard of this one so putting it on my list.

For historical fiction try Marie Benedict and also Martha Hall Kelly. I have read all of Martha Hall Kelly’s books and many of Marie Benedict.
Thanks for sharing! Will check them both out.
