La Valencia Has All The Iconic Vibes
The iconic La Jolla, California landmark hotel with panoramic views of the Pacific offers classic luxury and elevated dining options. The 'Pink Lady' as she's known is always in style!
La Valencia in La Jolla, California
When I was a little girl growing up in the midwest and I pictured southern California, I pictured sweeping views of the Pacific ocean and beach, palm trees, coastal elegance and sophistication.
Fast forward to just after my college graduation, I left the snow and cold behind, over 25 years ago at this point, moved to San Diego and have never looked back!
So when I think of something very Californian and even more niche, very San Diegan, it doesn’t get any more San Diego-inspired than La Valencia, located in La Jolla (coastal San Diego).
Fun Fact: My husband and I actually had our wedding reception at La Valencia three years ago!
The hotel originally opened its doors in 1926 and is celebrating their 100th anniversary with some fun offerings including their 1926 Social Club which is throwback to jazz, the Roaring 20s, along with great food and drink on their sprawling patio every Thursday evening in the summer. First come, first serve.

Such Lovely Food in a Lovely Setting

My friend met me at La Valencia and we had such a wonderful time catching up, sharing stories, and enjoying a three-course meal and some bubbles.
It was affectionately referred to as ‘Giggle Water’ back in the day. I thought that was so cute that it appeared that way on the menu.

The service was wonderful despite it being crowded and busy! Word has gotten out. A special shoutout to Christian and Jeremy who were so attentive and helped make the night even better.
